Terms of Service

Last updated: August 3, 2026

Welcome to Legal Risk Alert ("we", "our", "us"). By creating an account or using our website, courses, and related services (the "Services"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Educational content only — not legal advice

All content provided through the Services is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not legal advice, does not create a lawyer–client relationship, and should not be relied upon for any specific situation. Always consult a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.

2. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country).
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share, resell, or redistribute course content without written permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Services.
  • Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.

4. Legal Compliance Audit

The Legal Compliance Audit is an AI-assisted legal risk assessment generated from the answers and evidence you submit. It is informational only. It is not legal advice, not an audit opinion, not a certification, and not regulatory clearance, and it does not create a lawyer–client relationship.

Results depend entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. We do not independently verify your answers. Do not rely on a report alone for regulatory filings, board or trustee decisions, representations to funders or insurers, or litigation — confirm material findings with a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. A 30-minute virtual compliance consult (video or audio call) is a guided discussion of your report and is subject to the same limits.

Reports are issued as watermarked PDFs carrying a unique Report ID and integrity checksum that can be validated on our verification page. You may share your own report, but you must not alter it, remove the watermark or Report ID, or present it as an independent audit, certification, or legal opinion. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with an audit or report is limited to the fees you paid for that report.

5. Document Vault and Vault Assist

Document Vault is secure cloud storage. We act as a storage provider only — we are not a custodian of record, escrow agent, registered office, or your law firm, and storing a document with us does not by itself satisfy any statutory filing or record-keeping obligation.

  • You retain ownership of your files and are responsible for their legality and for having the right to store them, including consent where a file contains another person's personal data.
  • You must not upload material that is unlawful to possess or distribute, proceeds or instruments of crime, forged or fraudulent records, stolen or unlawfully obtained data, malware, or content that infringes third-party rights.
  • Uploads are checked server-side for format and safety. We accept PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, CSV and common image files only, within your plan's per-file size limit; executables, scripts, archives, macro-enabled Office files, and files whose contents do not match their name are rejected and not stored.
  • We do not proactively scan or inspect vault contents, and we do not run anti-virus scanning of file contents. You are responsible for scanning files with your own anti-virus software before uploading and after downloading. Where we receive a credible report or a valid legal order we may suspend access, preserve the material, inspect only what is necessary, disclose it where legally required, remove it, and terminate the account. You indemnify us against claims, penalties, and costs arising from unlawful or infringing material you upload.
  • Vault files are stored in a private, access-controlled cloud storage bucket operated by our infrastructure provider, encrypted in transit and at rest, and served only via short-lived signed links. No system is perfectly secure and we make no guarantee that storage cannot be compromised; keep your own independent copy of anything business-critical.
  • Vault access uses an additional step-up PIN that we cannot see or recover. Keep it confidential.
  • Vault Assist gives our team access to file documents on your behalf only after you activate the plan and grant consent from inside your vault, and only within the scope and period you grant. Every assist action is written to your vault audit log. You may revoke the grant at any time; revocation ends future access and does not undo documents already filed. Filing is an administrative service and is not a legal review of your documents.
  • Keep your originals. Document Vault stores a copy of your documents so you can access organized records anytime, anywhere. It does not replace your original documents or other backups. You remain responsible for keeping originals and other copies of anything business-critical, and should not delete or destroy them just because they are stored in the vault.

6. Payments & refunds

All payments are securely processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider. Legal Risk Alert never receives, stores, or has access to your card number, CVV, or bank account details. We only receive a confirmation that payment succeeded, together with your billing name, country, card brand, and the last 4 digits of the card — used for receipts, tax, and fraud prevention.

Training programs, audit tiers, bundles, and vault plans are billed at the price displayed at checkout. Vault Assist is billed quarterly or annually and renews until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period unless applicable law requires otherwise. Unless required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable once a cohort begins, a self-paced module is accessed, or an audit report has been generated. Specific refund terms for a product will be shown before purchase.

7. Intellectual property

All course materials, videos, text, and graphics are owned by Legal Risk Alert or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning.

8. Global Leadership Law Certificate

The Global Leadership Law Certificate confirms successful completion of the program only. It is not a professional credential and does not authorise the practice of law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the Services. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
