Instructor Manual

How to apply, build courses, run live sessions, and track learner progress as an instructor.

Last updated: 9 min read

1. Apply to teach

Open Teach with us and complete the application. Share your subject expertise, prior teaching or facilitation experience, and one or two course ideas. Our team reviews applications within a few business days.

2. Instructor profile

Add a clear headshot, a short bio, credentials and links. Keep language accessible and avoid jargon so learners across regions can quickly understand your background.

3. Create a course

From your instructor dashboard choose New course. Fill in the title, summary, learning outcomes, and estimated duration. Save the draft — you can keep editing until you publish.

4. Modules and lessons

Aim for modules of 20–40 minutes and lessons of 5–10 minutes. Every lesson should have a single clear objective stated in plain language.

5. Quizzes and grading

Use quizzes to reinforce learning, not to trick learners. Multiple choice and short answer are supported. Set a pass threshold and allow retakes.

6. Live sessions

Add a session in the calendar with a title, description and join link. Learners in that cohort see it automatically in their calendar.

7. Learner progress

Your dashboard shows enrollment counts, completion rates, and quiz pass rates by module. Use this to find lessons that need clearer explanations.

8. Earnings and payouts

Earnings appear in your instructor dashboard once your course goes live. Payouts run monthly to the method you set in Payout settings.

9. Content standards

Cite sources, avoid country-specific legal advice unless clearly labelled, keep language inclusive, and use accessible visuals. Full content guidelines are linked in your dashboard.

10. Peer review assignments

For any assignment you can enable peer review required. Learners are assigned a set number of anonymous peer submissions to grade against your rubric. The final grade blends peer scores with your instructor score using the weight you set. Late or missing peer reviews are flagged in the dashboard.

11. Moderating discussions

You can pin, hide, edit or delete posts in your course discussion board. The AI moderation queue surfaces flagged posts for your review. Persistent breaches of the code of conduct should be escalated to platform admins via the report tool.

12. Responding to ratings and reviews

Thank the reviewer, acknowledge feedback, and describe any change you plan to make. Do not identify the learner beyond what they have chosen to share and never dispute a rating publicly — use the report tool if a review breaches the code of conduct.

13. Support

Use the instructor help widget or email us. Include your course ID and a short description of what you need.
